• User Content & Sources: You provide files (e.g., PDFs, documents, images) when uploading sources into Spaces and Collections. These files and any metadata (e.g., file names, upload timestamps) are stored as part of your account.
• Invitations & Collaboration Data: When you invite others to a Space—via invitation codes, access requests, or direct invites—we collect invitee contact information and record your invitation actions.

b. Data We Automatically Collect

• Technical & Usage Data: We log IP addresses, browser or device type, operating system, access timestamps, and interactions with the Services (e.g., which Space or Collection you visit, which chat queries you submit).
• Cookies & Similar Technologies: We use cookies and local storage to maintain your session, preferences, and to analyze usage patterns. See our Cookie Notice for details.

c. Data from Third Parties

• Service Providers: We may receive data from payment processors, hosting providers, analytics vendors, or security partners, solely to deliver and secure the Services.

• Provide & Maintain Services: To enable account registration, file uploads, chat functionality, citation linking, and collaboration features.
• Improve & Research: To analyze usage patterns, diagnose issues, and enhance features like search relevance and citation accuracy.
• Communicate with You: To send account notifications, updates, security alerts, and respond to support requests.
• Security & Fraud Prevention: To detect unusual activity, prevent unauthorized access, and enforce our Terms of Use.
• Legal Compliance: To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights and users' safety.

3. Disclosure of Personal Data

• Vendors & Service Providers: We share data with hosting, storage, email, payment, and analytics partners under strict confidentiality agreements.
• Affiliates & Business Transfers: In a merger or sale, data may transfer to a successor entity, subject to this policy.
• Collaborators in Your Spaces: When you invite others to a Space, they gain access to the files and chat history in that Space. Citations link directly to your uploaded sources, visible to collaborators.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose data when required by law or to protect rights, property, or safety.

4. Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary to provide the Services or fulfill legal obligations. You may delete your uploaded sources or close your account to remove data. Residual copies may remain in backup systems for a limited time.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:

• Access, correct, or delete your personal data
• Restrict or object to processing
• Request data portability

Our Services are not for individuals under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we learn we have, we will delete it.
